The 5th graders have been busy planning and preparing for the farewell assembly. The assembly represents more than the culmination of this present unit of work, but their elementary education experience. As you know, for this reason, and as a way of celebrating their maturity and responsibility the students have for their own learning, they themselves are in charge of all of the planning, preparations, rehearsals and final presentations. Accordingly, preparations for the leaving assembly have been underway since their return to school from spring break.
Student led and directed events always take longer to plan and organise than adult organised events. This week we have already had two rehearsals, with another scheduled for tomorrow. The students are taking the time available to solve issues regarding timing and order of proceedings.
They are looking forward to seeing you on Thursday at 9am.
