Writing the Blog Together.

The children spent time this afternoon reflecting on the learning that has taken place since yesterday morning. They worked with a partner or in small groups to describe and analyse the learning activities. Here's what they thought:

Maths: Data Handling.
  • We learned how to make a survey using digital technology.
  • We made a survey on google docs.
  • Everybody made a survey with a partner with 3 to 5 questions.
  • We did this to understand how to make graphs and collect data.

Weekend Writing.

We wrote about what we did this long weekend. We all had fun and are happy to see our friends in school. This piece of writing was about time management. It was 5-8 minutes of planning, 25 minutes of writing and 5-8 minutes of proof reading and correcting the mistakes. We want to get really good at it so we can use the skills in each part of our work.

Bloom's Taxonomy.

  • The Bloom's Taxonomy charts are the steps of learning and understanding.
  • The charts have words on them and we looked them up in the dictionary.
  • We looked at all different types of Blooms's Taxonomy charts for adults and children.
  • Bloom's Taxonomy is helping us with our Web 2.0 tools inquiry.

EAL

We go to EAL everyday. Today we learned new words that will help us to understand graphs. Ms. Gibb helped us. Our questions were like this:

How many TVs do you have in your home?
What's your hobby?

Book Fair.

Yesterday and today the school had a book fair for the students and ISD community. It was an opportunity to buy English books because it is difficult to buy English books in Germany. The book fair was great fun and we found many good books.

Web 2.0 tools

I am really happy that we have the chance to inquire into Web 2.0 tools. I can see how they help me with communication and learning. They also fit in here on Bloom's Taxonomy.

A Window into The Classroom III.

Tomorrow we will take work home to share with our parents. We want our parents to notice that we work hard and to notice our good pieces of work. We also want our parents to see what type of stuff we do at school.

As you can see we have been busy! Please do take the time to fill in our Survey below. We will be using the data in our Maths next week.
