A Window into the Classroom V

On Friday the children will bring home their PYPX Journals to share with you. The journals show their thinking over time, they show their transdisciplinary theme, their concepts, their central idea, lines of inquiry and inquiry questions. They show research done so far and comments made by adults that have worked with them. They are true working documents that show the process that they are going through.

I encourage you to spend time looking at the journal with your child. Ask them to talk you through what they have done so far and what they intend to do next. The focus of your discussion could centre around the co- constructed assessment criteria and how they feel that they can meet the criteria.

Felix is in the midst of developing a '5.3 co-constructed assessment criteria' app for iphones and itouch that can be downloaded for you to look at and discuss at home. Try this: pypx.mjbapp.com

I am at a Conference on Friday so Mrs. Marion Smith will cover. The children will be working on their PYPX and on solving Maths problems, as well as reading.
