Students have been learning in the Deutschmobil textbook about hobbies and free-time activities, and can express their likes and dislikes. They worked together with the other beginner students from their homeroom to make posters showing their favorite activities. The next chapter is about family.
Students have also written their own versions of a story about a child who likes music and what his grandpa and mother say about how loud it is. Those who finished are working on illustrating it as a comic or short book.
We have visited the computer lab several times lately. Students have chosen either to practice specific vocabulary and skills with livemocha.com, to improve pronunciation with Lauschwerkstatt (also known as die Schnecke) software and to become smarter shoppers by checking the Angebote on the websites of supermarkets, bakeries and other stores.
We are also piloting the Antolin reading program. The first students to use the program have already begun training the next group in how to use the website. Most said they would use it again.
Thanks for reading and please allow me to wish you and your families relaxing, enjoyable holidays.
