Student blog entry

Yesterday and today, Tuesday the 17th of May our class has already

1.     Made a poster or comic life or report about our happy memories about school. The children included things they really enjoyed like special projects or field trips.
2.     Written about what happend in the weekend in their purple books.
3.     Practiced our maths explanation skills.
4.     Written a piece of work to explain a movie called Paraphernalia.
5.     Read quietly in the cushion corner.
6.     We have gone into our assembly groups and discussed these things:
The Event Management group discussed about what would have to happen and split up into groups that would check on the other groups.
The IT group decided to split into 6 groups who all had different jobs. In their groups they decided what might be considered in the assembly.
The Creative group found out that they had to go through these four stages to make a successful group: forming, storming, norming and performing.
The Refreshments group thought that the home room moms might help them set up. They also found out that the food should be healthy and light.
The Music group planned to have the 5th grade band play after the assembly.
The Stage group decided their theme and jobs today.Everybody is really excited and looking forward to the assembly day.

That is a lot and we will continue working that hard.

  1. This morning the grade 5 team met with the homeroom parents to discuss their role in the refreshments for the final assembly. Thank you to the parents who came; I believe we made a good start. I am excited to be working with the refreshment group and with home mums too. The children have selected some interesting and varied snacks to be eaten after the assembly! We hope to be able to bake and /or prepare some of the goodies for the day, which will be very exciting and rewarding for us!
