Blogging Challenge

Welcome to our class blogging challenge. Each week I will post a new challenge for students to complete. Check back to this page to see what other students are thinking, and to see the next blogging challenge. Sometimes we will talk about the different challenges in class and of course we can share our ideas and thoughts here by posting comments, by reading and responding to the comments of others. While we are learning about the Internet, how to stay safe and how to use these tools effectively for our learning, we are going to focus on our own blog and the blogs of other classes in our school.

Each week you will need to visit at least two other classroom blogs from our school. The links to all our school blog sites are on the right hand side of our own blog page.

The blogging challenge is a series of 10 tasks, all designed to improve blogging and commenting skills, while connecting students with a wider audience. Starting in September, we will be looking at our own blog and blogs of other classes. We will talk about which elements of the blog can promote learning and how we can use our blog to share and develop our own thinking and that of our peers. We will spend time in class learning and talking about how to be safe on the internet and ways we can use the internet to improve and enhance our learning.

What might a challenge task look like?
It could be any number of things, which could include:
  • developing a comic strip
  • creating a widgit or an avatar
  • writing a post creatively(rather than simply posting a comment)
  • creating stories without words
  • comment etiquette
  • sharing your thoughts and ideas without using words
Post a comment to share some of your ideas for challenge activities we could include in our challenge tasks.
Week One Challenge:
Write a comment about why students and classes should visit our class blog. What will they learn from reading our posts? Do we have any knowledge or skills that we have that we could share with others?

  1. Hi there,
Students should visit our blog to have fun and to see what everyone in the school is doing. When you read a post or comment you can see what everybody thinks about what you did. You can share your ideas and understandings.
