This week we began our biographies, started to explore our learning styles, hunted down factors of numbers from 1 to 100, noticed a link between square numbers and prepared the front page of our portfolios. We wrote letters about books or articles, authors or genre types and have presented our understanding to the class on how our brains work. A storyteller visited and we found out how to plan our stories using a visual portrait. We focussed on our classroom agreements and showed that we can work effectively as a team, as we came together to narrow our agreements to just 4. We have shown our thinking, explained our understanding, listened and shared ideas. What a week! What a class!
Oh and, as an added extra, some of us found the mathematics sentence that shows the link between square numbers.
n² = (n-1)² + (2n-1)
It is, of course, not a Grade 5 Maths expectation but we had great fun finding it and checking it with numbers!
Have a good weekend.
