Games From All Over The World
Our first project this year was is drawing to a close. Each student prepared a presentation of a game that is popular in their home country. You may already know about it, as many students talked to their parents in order to find out about a game that is played in their home country.
As a group, we decided on the information the presentation should include and gathered criteria for a good oral presentation. The students wrote a text, which I helped them to revise and edit. They then made a poster, and gave their oral presentation to the class. Presentations and games
were peer-assessed and, where possible, tried out in class or in the playground.
We also thought about the relationship between games and the "real world". Is their something we do in the game that is a useful training for life?
It was a lot of work but also great fun, and we got to know as many as seventeen interesting, some even exciting, new games that we are looking forward to play again!
