Lessons in the beginner group usually start with the question: "Schnell, langsam, laut oder leise?" Depending on the answer, we sing "Alle meine Entchen," "Häschen in der Grube," and/or "Kopf Schultern, Knie, und Zehen" quickly, slowly, loudly or quietly. A countdown helps to turn on the beamer and the learning can begin.
So far, students can name colors, count as high as a million and recite short rhymes like "1,2 Polizei" and "Zehn kleine Finger." They can give basic information about themselves and used the easi-speak microphones to record short interviews with partners.
We got to know Muzzy and his friends, and most students are waiting anxiously to see the next episode. Games such as rotes Licht/grünes Licht ; Ich sehe was, was du nicht siehst; Wieviel Uhr ist es, Wolf?, flyswatters and the Richtig so! software have given students the opportunity to review what they have learned.
Perhaps you have heard about a girl named Lila and her cat, whose name is of course, "Elefant." After acting out stories featuring Lila and Elefant, students made comics to illustrate the action.
