Rectangular Prisms and Volume

We used 36 cubes to build rectangular prisms.

This prism measures 3 x 3 x 4



This prism measures 2 x 1 x 18.



This prism measures 3 x 2 x 6.






This prism is 1 x 1 x 36.

 We  noticed that using factors of 36 helped us to build the prisms more easily.


We also saw how each prism is different and yet each has the same volume (36 cubes). We will explore this idea of volume more.
