Necessity is the Mother of Invention 2.

This morning the children began to present their understanding of the poem "You ain't read nothing yet". Some performed plays, some wrote comic strips, some used a cartoon programme on the PC to create a comic strip. Some children worked in groups, some in pairs and others worked individually, according to choice. The children discussed their understanding of the poem with each other. They reasoned and questioned as they read and re-read the poem.

Showing understanding through pictorial representation.
Showing understanding through the written word.
Showing understanding through role play.

Below is a way of showing understanding through use of technology.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable learning activity for all and has helped us make a connection to our central idea: the form and material of an object affect its use.
